If you have really dirty grout, use a brush and try a mixture of about one-third white vinegar to two-thirds water to get the stains up.
When cleaning hardwood flooring you?ll need boiling water and two teabags. The tannins in the tea create a beautiful shine for hardwood floors. Let the tea steep in the water for a few minutes, then pour it into a bucket. Take a soft cloth and wring it out in the tea, it should be damp, not soaked. This will allow the floor to dry quickly. This must be done with the on-your-hands-and-knees cleaning method.

A floor covered with ceramic tile is about as durable and low maintenance a surface as you can get unless a tile breaks, but even then you’ll be glad to have tile underfoot, because tile installation for a broken or chipped tile is fairly simple. Whereas, with hardwood floors, you?ll first need to decided if you need only need to replace a small area or if the whole floor needs repairs, or do you just need to refinish and re-coat. These processes affect much larger areas of the floor than one tile, and take far longer to handle.
